STARK esthetics is located in the cute and quaint Wauwatosa Village. You will find the main(and only entrance) at 7611 W. Harwood Ave., the door is right in between the two storefronts of Magpie and Heinsight. There is a STARK esthetics logo on the front door. Upon entering you will have to walk up a flight of stairs(unfortunately there is no elevator). Once at the top of the stairs you will take a hard right and follow the railing down to my studio, which again will have a STARK esthetics sign on the door.

There is street/angled parking along Harwood Ave. as well as at least 3 public parking lots located within a block of the studio.

I ask that new guests arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their appointment and existing guests at least 5 minutes prior. If I am still with a guest, my door will be closed with a sign on it saying “currently with a guest, please wait”. You can have a seat on the bench in the hall until I am ready for you. If I am ready, my door will be half open/slightly ajar so feel free to come on in! *NEW GUESTS - please be sure to fill out the online intake and consent form before coming in. That will ensure that you get the most out of you appointment with me.

I usually have a grace period of about 10 minutes, but if you are running late please let me know. I do have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. All appointments must be cancelled 24 hours or more in advance to avoid being charged 50% of the service total. No Show appointments will be charged 75% of the service total.

For facial services I ask that cell phones/watches are silenced and put away. I prefer kids not to tag along as I do have a lot of machines and other hazards that could be dangerous.

All services at STARK esthetics are pregnancy safe, although some facials may require some modification. In general, the skin can be more sensitive while pregnant so just take that into consideration.

Gift certificates can be purchased online through my booking site: https://starkesthetics.glossgenius.com/gift-cards or you can schedule a ‘product/gift certificate pickup’ if you would like nicer physical gift card to give. I do run service specials every 2 months based on the season, or if I have a new service to be offered. I also only do sales on retail about 2 times a year.

Upon scheduling online, you will need to put a card on file. This doesn't charge your card right away, it more so will hold your appointment time and will be used if a no-show/late cancellation occurs. Once I have completed the service you will have the option to run the card on file, pay with a different card, pay in cash, or use a gift card. I offer a 10% discount on all services and products if paid in cash:)

FACIAL SERVICES

I always suggest that ALL new clients to me, whatever you have had a facial before or not, schedule the Signature Wellness Facial. I like to get to know you and your skin first before doing or suggesting any more advanced facials. The Signature Wellness Facial is more on the mild and relaxation side of things so it gives me the chance to take a look at your skin and see how it handles my products.

The main line that I use is Green Envee which is organic, vegan, 100% plant based, as well as cruelty, gluten, and nut free. My secondary line is Blissoma, which I brought in to help clients who have more sensitive/reactive skin. Blissoma is a holistic and botanical product line that is also organic and cruelty free. I use only the highest quality natural products that will also off great results and skin barrier support.

Even though you will be changing into a facial gown, I always recommend wearing anything that is comfortable. I also suggest to leave your jewelry at home. You will have to take off any rings, watches, bracelets, necklaces, and dangly earrings, so its usually best to not have to worry about those. Your facial may or may not include a scalp massage so wearing your hair down is usually the most comfortable, but having a scrunchie or hair clip for after is a good idea. Wearing makeup is fine, just know that it will be coming off during your treatment.

The main thing is to stop use of all topical retinoids and AHAs/BHAs at least 5 days prior to your appointment. Tanning and waxing should also be avoided at least 48 hours prior. You also must wait 2 weeks after getting any facial injections, like Botox or filler, the same goes for any facial laser treatments.

When you come in for your appointment we will first start with a consultation. If its your first time, it will be more in depth and if I’ve worked with you before it’ll be a brief catch up on what’s been going on with your skin. I’ll leave the room to have you change and get comfortable. After a through cleansing I will then take a good look at your skin under the light to get a game plan and let you know what will happen for the rest of the facial. No matter what I do I always try to make it the most relaxing experience I can. If you have questions or want to chat, go right ahead. If you want to just zen-out and zone out, I’m cool with that too.

Once you have changed, I will come back in the room and give you the chance to first ask any questions that you may have. I’ll go over any skin concerns I have, products recommendations, and future service recommendations. If its early in the day I will advise you to do your nighttime routine at home as I always put SPF on at the end. If it’s later in the day you will be all set to go with your nightly routine all done for you! It’s also best to not use any active/exfoliating products for a couple days after receiving a facial. Keeping it clean and hydrated is key!
