luxury facials with a therapeutic touch

meet ashley

I graduated in 2007 from ViCi Aveda Institute which makes me 17 years into this career and I will never stop learning. Throughout my years I have worked mostly with natural skin care brands and have done the majority of my continuing education through Aveda. Since becoming a solo esthetician, I have gained certificates/advanced education in manual lymphatic drainage, gua sha, facial cupping, LED light therapy, nano infusion, advanced skin analysis, and I’m currently in a course to become a holistic acne specialist. Knowledge is invaluable and I will continue to learn everything I can to serve my clients in the best and healthiest way possible.

When I’m not in my studio, you can probably find me at home with my husband and our 2 fur babes(one cat and one dog). I’m definitely a little homebody that loves to do house/yard projects and then relax by watching some trashy love reality shows. If you see me out of the house I’m probably hiking or camping with my husband and dog, doing some thrifting, or going out to eat at a local restaurant.

Stark's story

STARK esthetics was born out of necessity. After 15 years of being an esthetician and working in the beauty industry, I was feeling stagnant and uninspired. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to find a place that would align with my skin care philosophies and eco-conscious values so I decided to create my own.

I landed on the name STARK, as one of the definitions truly encompasses what I was going for. Severe, or bare in appearance, sheer, simple, without decoration or anything that is not necessary, stark naked. My goal is to achieve healthy, glowing skin so that there’s no need to slap on pounds of makeup everyday, less makeup = less plastic waste. I also aim to provide minimalistic skin care regimens by offering quality and effective products, less skin care products = less plastic waste. I want every service and product that I provide to help make people feel good in their own natural skin and body without the use of harsh or harmful ingredients or prescriptions.

Our sustainable practices

  • - Reusable cotton rounds are used whenever possible

    - Keeping  all ‘disposables’ at a minimum, while still maintaining sanitation requirements

    - All intake/consent forms are electronic

  • - All laundry is washed using EWG verified and USDA Biobased certified laundering products that use plastic-free packaging. They are also recognized by the National Eczema Association.

  • - Making my own distilled water at home and transporting it using reusable gallon jugs for use in my machines/equipment, keeping at least 100+ plastic gallons out of the landfill per year.
